survivor reflection T1W5

This week in class we have teamed up 
with Mamaku 3 to do some survivor based tasks.  The task I did was we had to bake Damper and then cook it on a fire with a stick. Then if we completed that task we got to marshmallows to roast. I liked this activity because we got to roast marshmallows.

This week for numeracy we have been working on fractions, I learnt how to identify fractions. Here is a google drawing about how to identify fractions . Next time I am going to try and be more focused so I will have a better understanding about fractions.


Also this week for literacy we have been still working on our slide about our artist. Next time I am going to find a bit more information about him, but this time I ran out of time. We were learning to resurrect about a set artist

Literacy reflection T3W1

Yesterday afternoon Madeline came in to help us with our persuasive writing. We had to find a buddy and then had to try and get them to like a game of our choice. We had to convince them from the heart, mind and inspire them. I liked this activity because I like doing persuasive writing.  

Also this week for literacy we had to fill out a google dock about what is art I didn't know much about art so this was hard for me. This term for literacy our work is going to be based on art.

Family member description

There once was a lady called Kate Dalzell, she had long black wavy hair. She has hazel eyes and she is very fashionable.

She had a pointy nose that reminds me of squid wids nose of sponge bob. She had a beautiful smile because she has such white teef. She likes to wear black I don't know why tho it's sort of weird. Her favorite food is nachos and subway. She likes Adidas better than Nike. And she also likes DC. She likes going to her mums house and we go down the creek and look for animals. She is the best mum ever.

This week for literacy we had to write a description about a family member, I chose to do my mum. I liked doing this activity because I really like doing descriptions. Next time I am going to try and write more descriptive statement.

Literacy Reflection Week 7

There once was a lady named Helga Reissmann. Her eyes were as blue as the sky with clouds in it. She was as tall as the highest skyscraper. Her style is a cowgirl. Her top looks like a snow leopard. Her shoes look like a stained wood. Her teeth are like a bunny's teeth. Her shape is tall and skinny. She is quite big only because she is tall. Her hair is short and straight. She has 3 children, Jasmine 26, Telisha 24 and Cole is 21. Her job is teaching me and my class. She likes going on walks.

This week for literacy we had to write a description about our teacher. Our WALT was to write a description about Miss Reissmann. Next  time I am going to manage my time better. I liked this activity because I like writing descriptions.

Literacy Reflection T2W5

This week for Literacy I did word work. I had really hard words this week and I Learnt how to spell them! I am most proud of learning how to spell catastrophe. Next time I am going to manage my time better so I don't have to do lots of work for home Learning. 

Cross country Reflection

This week we had cross country I didn't come to school that day but I did all of the other years. What you have to do is when your age group comes up you have to run around the field. I don't like cross country so this is a persuasive type of writing I wrote to tell people why we shouldn't do cross country I could think of 4 reasons why here they are 

I think we should not  do cross country because some people cant do it and they to sit there board all day. 

I also think we should not do cross country because some people don't like doing it.  

I think you should be able to choose if you want to do it or not. 

I think that it is bad because we are not learning anything.          

Art Reflection

This week I finally finished my art work I really like how it turned out 

First we had to cut out a large circle of any  color and I chose blue and then we had to cut out little shapes of different colors then we had to put more shapes of tissue paper This art work is based on Robert Delaney.

I liked this art but I would rather do this worj using pastel

Top teams reflection

On Tuesday Our school did top teams. My favorite activity we did  was the stacking tower activity we had to make a tower and what ever team had the highest tower won and got more points. There was also other activity's where we had to get wet they were fun. you had to try and be the team with the most points at the end.

This week for numeracy we had to make a slide about 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication.  next time I am going  to try and make them look better. I liked doing this activity because it was fun making google drawings.

This Week for literacy I have been working on word work. Here is a video of me reading it out. I found some of the words hard like confess and employ because they were hard to spell. Next time I  am going to manage my time better so I can get more done so I don't have to do it for home learning.

This week for word work I did the meaning of the word and a sentence. Next time I am going to write faster so I can get more done. I liked doing this because I really like doing word work.

Here is my favorite part of my writing
center for 2 nIn week 6 and 7 Mamaku traveled to the Buller region. We went to learn about mining. We stayed at the Maxwell Gage nights and 3 days. We did lots of bush walk and went swimming at the Aquatic center 2 times. We had bunk rooms to sleep in but I slept in the lounge.  
Here is my writing I didn't really like doing this activity I found it a bit boring. Next time I am going to not talk to my friends so  can make it better.

This week for literacy we had to write a introduction about shanty town here is mine we had to find out who when why and what and a fact about shanty town. this reminds me of when I went to shantytown. 


This week were also introduced to spine poems. We had to fine 6 books then make them into a poem. I really liked this activity it was very fun to do but it was hard to find all of the books.

This book is called the valley of the giant skeletons.

Geronino stilton and his family set out to find gold coins but they come along a thew bumps along the way. but the met up with this really nice family in the middle of the desert then they stay the night there find out more b  reading the book.

Geronimo Stilton was forced to go to Egypt he was told we was flying 1st class but he really wasent. Then when he got there bad things happend like when he was exploring the pyramids with a mad scintest the scientist passed out and Geronimo was left all alone. Then he saw a snake find out what happens next by reading the book.

I rate this book a 3 out of 5 because the book wasent as good as some of the other Geronimo Stilton books.

Numeracy Reflection T1W4

This week for numeracy we had to write down all our goals for this year and here are mine.

I sort of liked doing this activity because I don't really like doing goals. We also went on maths buddy and done a couple of tests we were also on studyladder. We chose our goals for the beginning of the year from our test results.

This week for word work we had to write the definition of the word then write a sentence and find out the origin of the word. I didn't like doing this activity because it took along time to find the information. Next time I am going to write better sentences with my words by using FANBOYS to extend my ideas.

Term 1 Week 4 Electronics

On Wednesday Mamaku 2 had a guy named Andrew come and teach us about circuit boards and lots of other cool stuff. We also made a thing that measured how strong you were by squeezing two nails. I won a prize for answering a question. I won a little light that flashed red and green when you put the two wires on a little battery called a lithium battery. has Andrew ever came to your school?

Literacy

This week for literacy we had to write lists that had something to do with us. I chose to do 10 places I want to visit. I found it hard to decide all the places I wanted to go. Next time I am going to manage my time better and try and get more done.

The number one place I want to go is I want to go to Orlando Florida so I can go snorkeling in a coral reef.

Statistics: This week we had to think of a question and then go and ask people in Mamaku. Our question was what is Mamaku's favorite animal and the answer was wolf. Here is my graph.

Interchange

This week for interchange we went to fitness where we did circuits and then we went to drama where we had to act out words. I liked drama better than fitness.

Reflection T1W1

Welcome to 2017 everyone, I hope you're having a good year so far.

This year all of the year sixes are keeping there chrome books from last year and the year 5's are getting a new one. But there chrome book aren't turning up till Tuesday so the year sixes have been teaching them how to do stuff on chrome books.

Jasmine is excited to have a chrome book because then she doesn't need a buddy!

This week I liked doing things on the blog and being in a chrome book class.

Leah. This is my typing speed test.I have got way slower at typing over the holidays and my accuracy has got worse as well. I thing I need to get typing!
