The minds afire

This week we have been reading a book called the mines afire because next Monday we are going to the mine for a day. The book has been set out as someone who was there on the days diary. Here are some facts about the mine explosion.

The Brunner mine exploded at 9:30 on Tuesday the 26th of march 1896.

It killed 65 miners down below. 

It was the worst mining disaster in New Zealand history.
